Where is my Motivation.

How many times do you wake-up and tell yourself ‘Today is the day’

Today is the day –

  • I use less social media
  • I start to read more
  • I watch less movies
  • I start to write that piece
  • I take the first step on that idea
  • I go to the gym
  • I eat healthy
  • I go to church
  • I go out more often
  • I call my family
  • I call that friend I think of very often
  • I wake up early
  • I pay my bills
  • I take that course
  • I send that message
  • I apply to that job

But then you end with ‘ I will start tomorrow’

I personally go through that everyday all day. But the good news is I have  3 tips that help me. So maybe you can use them too:

  • The 5 second’s rule.

I discovered Mel Robbins last year and ever since I started to imbibe the 5 seconds rule, I have tricked my brain to resist the urge for safety and familiarity. What is this rule:

The next time you think of something to do. Make sure you take  action in 5 seconds. If you don’t, your brain suggest one million and one reason why you shouldn’t. Everyone’s brain is wired to do that- To embrace comfort and logically reject unfamiliarity.14

  • Set rewards for small achievements. We are so ungrateful to ourselves and the universe. We think until some grandiose goals are achieved you shouldn’t be rewarded. Think of these-When a student / worker is rewarded for small achievements they are even motivated to do better. Why is your brain different? Reward yourself for every  little accomplishment and see the wonders that happen . Hone the power of gratitude
Remember :

If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed,” U.S. Navy Adm. William H. McCraven to the graduates of his alma mater

Hope you use this tips. Please share with me your ideas and experience. Suggestions are welcome!!!!!!
