What do I love about: Everyone communicates few connect?
The master leadership expert John C Maxwell has done it again. In his book, he uses detailed explanation on communication strategies, life experiences, mentors advice to portray his communication tactics. I was so relunctant to drop this book because it spoke to my soul. I especially love the way he higlights quotes or important points in text box. My key take aways are people don’t care how much you know, what you said, what you even gave them but they will always remember how you made them feel. Over 60% of your communication has absolutely nothing to do with your actual words. The need to KISS- Keep it simple stupid is a principle I have started inculcating in my everyday life.
He also gives 3 questions people ask themselves consiously/ subconsiously before they accept you – Does he/she care for me, will they be willing to help me, can I trust them? The only issue I had with this book and I think I have had with most of John’s books is that he repeats his contents rather too much. But you know what, the first time you say something, it’s heard. The second time, it’s recognized, and the third time, it’s learned. Thank You John for helping me learn.
